Our Company

Is different from other Coffee companies because we are a 501(c)3 non-profit that empowers abled individuals with jobs in the coffee business.

Around 78% Of Our Workforce Are Abled.

Which means that when you buy our coffee, we employ individuals with disabilities.

Here's Our Story

Medina Creative Coffee is a supportive employment, and vocational rehabilitation program offered by Medina Creative Housing.

This program supports individuals with disabilities, whom are involved in every step of the production; roasting, packaging, and distribution of our delicious coffee.

Our wonderful program is spearheaded by:

- Master Coffee Roaster Rick Sheehan.

Just like anything that is great, amazing coffee does not just happen overnight.

Coffee takes years of:

To really become a coffee master.

And, That's why our Master Coffee Roaster Rick Sheehan has dedicated more than 23 years in the coffee industry.

First

In 1992 he started as a partner, and Chief Operating Officer for Phoenix Coffee. Rick managed the sales, and operations for 8 different retail stores in the Cleveland area.

After

Rick left Phoenix Coffee in 1996 to open Kokopelli Coffee & Tea. During this time Rick was in charge of 2 retail stores in downtown Cleveland, and a larger coffee house in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Fast forward to 2007

Rick sells Kokopelli Coffee & Tea in order to become a partner in the Solstice Coffee Roasters. In this time, Rick was responsible for purchasing green coffee beans, roasting the beans, and then coordinating all retail coffee shipments.

Finally

In 2014 Rick left Solstice Coffee to begin working with Medina Creative Housing, where he consults in all coffee matters.

To This Day

Rick, and his amazing team continue to take pride in producing the best tasting coffee, while providing employment, and opportunity to Abled individuals with disabilities.
